First Responders Making a Difference currently recognizes 3 channels/avenues for funding/distribution requests coming to FRMAD:

  1.  Established FRMAD Partner Programs (currently Tacoma Pierce County Chaplaincy (TPCC), Tumwater Professional Firefighters, & Thurston County Sheriffs Office) authorized to distribute discretionary funds consistent with approved procedures.
  2. Urgent requests received by a FRMAD Board Member from a first responder or a FRMAD Partner Program. In this context, our guideline for “urgent” is an emergency funding decision needed quickly & before the next scheduled Board meeting. Individual Board members exercise discretion over these requests not to exceed $1,000 in consultation with a second Board member.
  3. Grant requests submitted to the FRMAD Board for action, such as verbal requests brought directly to the Board, or providing the “Requester Information” listed on the Grant Request Form posted above & submit via email to
Requests may be for one-time funding, or by a first responder jurisdiction interested in becoming a FRMAD Partner Program. The Board will evaluate submitted Grant Request Forms for consistency with our Mission, priority, appropriate follow-up, and available FRMAD funds.
