Again this year, First Responders accompanied finalists for a shopping spree at Kohl’s.

First Responders Making a Difference (FirstRMAD) partnered with Lacey Police, Lacey Fire, and Thurston County Sheriffs Deputies to dress the five talented finalists for success by paying for new clothing to wear the night of their Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston Count Youth of the Year presentations on February 1st, 2019 at the South Puget Sound Community College Lacey Branch location. This celebration is the culmination of the Youth of the Year program and a great recognition of youth leadership in Thurston County. Each finalist makes their presentations and the representative chosen to be the Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County is announced. The finalists participating are Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County 2019 Youth of the Year nominees: Jacob Zipperer (Rochester), Johanna Chhay (Olympia), A’Yunna Terry (Lacey), Nora Worley (Tumwater), and Kaiden Lindholm (Tenino).

It was a great fun for the “Youth of the Year” shopping event on January 15th.  The four kids walked away ready to dress for success. Thanks to all who participated, and especially FRMAD Board Member Undersheriff Tim Braniff for helping our organizations coordinate in “making a difference” for the community youth.
